The objective of the Rehabilitation Program is treatment and recuperation, better communication with the environment and improving the quality of life. Apart from patient the interest is transferred to the environment, knowing the decisive role in its recovery.
Medical Monitoring and Physiatry Evaluation
The Center care system runs by a Scientific Director, with the Physiatrist specialty that oversees all the Rehabilitation Group. An indoor and an outdoor Physiatrist offer Services and cooperate with doctors of various specialties, whatever is required in each case. At a scheduled weekly basis, an orthopedist, a neurologist-psychiatrist and a pathologist attend the patients.
Objectives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are:
• Diagnosis and determination of the type of therapeutic approach during the initial outbreak of the disease.
• Therapeutic intervention in the different pathology of Disabled
• Prevention of unexpected complications
• Improving or recovering the functional residues of the disease
• Development of the remaining capacities of the human body
• Retraining permanent disabilities
Physiotherapy intervention
Physical therapy applied to the Rehabilitation Program is a method that uses physical and technical means for rehabilitation of various diseases especially the neuromuscular and skeletal system.
Appropriate therapeutic procedures are:
Thermotherapy, Cold therapy, Hydrotherapy, Electrotherapy, Movement therapy, Massage.
The area of Rehabilitation is equipped with machines that meet international standards and developments concerning rehabilitation techniques.
It has 5 treatment rooms in a modern environment, where personalized programs are applied according to patient’s need.
Personal Training in everyday activities
The learning and development of skills that are necessary for the well-being of the patient are provided. It is organized the teaching of everyday activities, so as the promotion of mobility and functionality as well as the acquisition of autonomy and independence to be achieved.
The patient is trained to:
Clothing, personal hygiene, food reception, household housekeeping, transportation, entertainment.
Psychological support
It is an integral part of the therapeutic process and the objective is the psychological support of the man himself, with a physical illness or disability, and family environment for better management and acceptance of the new situation with the difficulties and the new possibilities that arised.
Provided Services: Evaluation of Mental Level, Individual Psychotherapy, Individual Counseling, Assessment-reevaluation and follow up, orientation in space and time, Counseling to parents, companions and family.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy services are provided on a regular basis, in cases of stroke and where there is speech disorder.
