The Physiotherapy Centre of
Voukolies, located in the municipality of Voukolies since 2002, is the
second Physiotherapy Centre that belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Kisamos and
Selino as a part of the Annousakeio Therapeutic Centre.
Its foundation marks the continuation of the
vision and wisdom of the respectable former Metropolite of Kisamos and Selino,
expanding the work of Annousakeio Therapeutic Centre.
The Physiotherapy Centre is located in the
facilities of the Holy Metropolis, in a building that was previously a boarding
school but was suitably modified and equipped with the latest physiotherapy
equipment available.
This Centre provides specialised care to
individuals that require physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which in effect
provides hope and support for the alleviation of human pain.
The professionalism, confidence and respect that
the Centre of Voukolies exudes is evident from the very first visit, treatments
are performed by a qualified Physiotherapist who has the sensitivity that every
person in the health profession should have.
The Physiotherapy Centre has an electrotherapy
room that allocates electrotherapy via continuous currents of changing
frequencies, ultrasound, portable tens, heat waves and a magnetic bed.
The hydrotherapy room has warm water pressure
baths for the upper and lower extremities, bath, warm and cold pads and
compresses.
The Gym is equipped with static exercise bicycles,
exercise chair, wheel, stairs, wooden corridor, gymnastic balls, as well as
everything necessary for the strengthening and the functional rehabilitation of
the muscles.
The Physiotherapy Centre of Voukolies is an
establishment of an organised network of care, which together with the regional
medical services (Rural Surgery of Voukolies and Health Centre of Kantanos) and
other Annousakeio Centre programs and services, is able to cover the physiotherapeutic
needs of the region.
The Annousakeio Therapeutic Centre, the core of
many In-Residence and Non-Resident services, is expanding with the aim to
provide care to even the most remote areas.
