Annousakeio Social Services is staffed
by two social workers and is focused in three central axis:
1.
Organizing in collaboration with
various specialists a complete program that covers all the elderly’s needs and
also provides individualised care.
2.
Ensuring the basis for appropriate
conditions and healthy personal and interpersonal relations.
3.
Helping to make a smooth transition
to the Annousakeio environment.
1. Create a positive attitude towards old age.
2. Active participation of the elderly in the services
offered and training in the area of basic needs in order that they maintain
their autonomy.
3. Support the socialization of the elderly in order to
prevent depression through participation in organized activities that
strengthen their self-esteem and maintain their interest in life.
4. Maintaining the bonds between family members and
promoting the participation of familiar faces in order to help them adapt to
their new environment smoothly.
5. Psychological support in order to fight the fear of
their impending death.
At the same time, Social Services tries to inform, to sensitize and
promote community involvement on issues that concern old age by organising a
variety of social, educational and cultural activities.
