It is common knowledge that individuals who are simply out of strength or
have suffered serious health damage caused by illness or injury should have
physiotherapy treatments during their recovery stage in order to strengthen
their muscles and regain flexibility.
Within the Annousakeio Therapeutic Center there is a
Physiotherapy room for individuals that are permanent residents of the Centre. Here,
the specialised staff - two Physiotherapists and an Assistant Physiotherapist –
provides treatment for a variety of physical problems.
The Physiotherapy
room is located on the ground floor of the Annousakeio Therapeutic
Centre and is equipped with physiotherapy machines as well as exercise
machines. There are also Electrotherapy, Hydrotherapy and Kinesiotherapy departments.
The goal is to deal with the problems that both the Resident and
Non-Resident patients present in order to rehabilitate their health and in that
way contribute to the improvement of the quality of their life.
The individual objectives are:
Prevention
Maintenance
Rehabilitation
The collaboration of the Physiotherapy team with the other specialities
is direct. However, beyond the provision of health services, the role of the
Physiotherapy Centre is also social. Services to Non-Residents are provided for
a minimal, almost symbolic fee, and in many cases are completely free of charge.
