The Annousakeio is a private legacy Therapeutic
Centre (Official Journal of the Hellenic Republic 88/1997), which is
financially supported by a small annual government subsidy, by the monetary
contribution of Metropolis, by the citizens’ donations and by each guest’s
monthly pension.
The Board of the Annousakeio Therapeutic Centre
consists of seven members that compose the administrative council, the
President of which is the current Metropolite of Kisamos and Selino.
The Council is composed of: the Mayor , the Head
of Chania Providence, the Head Director of the Health Centre of Kisamos, the
Director of the Association of Ladies and Young Ladies of Pirgos, and a
relative from the donor family. The duties of secretary are executed by the
Director of the Therapeutic Centre, priest
AntoniosAretakis.
The central core of the social care that the
Annousakeio Directory offers is surrounded by the following ideas:
·Foundation of the essential conditions that
promote healthy human relationships.
·Living conditions respectful of human rights.
·Equal provision of services to every guest.
·Modernization of our services through continuing
education and improvement of working conditions.
·Using
the latest technology in order to effectively satisfy the residents’ needs.
At the
same time, particular emphasis is given to the following points:
·Examination of the particularities of each elderly
person’s personality, in order to provide the best possible individual care.
·At
the same time, we try not to isolate the elderly from their family or social
environment but to create a system of alternative health services.
Generally,
we attempt to:
·Cover any social need, mainly within the Region of
Kisamos and Selino, giving however priority to emergency situations in other
regions.
·Collaborate with the institutions of the
prefecture of
Chania.
·Provide work for people with special needs at the
Therapeutic Centre.
·Support all the health specialties in order to be able
to successfully address all situations.
·Ongoing training of the personnel of the Annousakeio
Centre through seminars, lectures and exchanges with corresponding services in
Greece and
abroad as well.
